Tuel Lane Infant School 11th March 2021

Welcome Back!

It is lovely to have everyone back in school again. It feels right and we can get on with learning and playing together again.  We are working hard in school to keep everyone healthy and safe. Your co-operation is really appreciated.  Thank you for wearing your face-coverings, for making sure only 1 adult comes with children and for keeping your children very close to you in the playground.

Please also read the Covid advice for families with this newsletter carefully.  It is hard to get back into routines after such a strange time but please can we ask you to be on time in at both drop-off and collection times. Arriving late is upsetting for children and they miss the important introductions to the day.

Parents Consultations

You can book a 10-minute phone call with your class teacher to talk about settling back in, progress and next steps. Watch out for the email and book your time slot.

Good News!

Congratulations to Mrs Hanson, one of our Rabbit Class teachers. She had a beautiful baby girl, Hattie Amelie, last Friday. Mum and baby are both doing well. We send them lots of love.
We are delighted for Miss Holmes too. She is expecting a baby in July.
Something to really look forward to in the summer.

Spring Sing Out

Just before Easter each class will be holding a little concert in the playground, just like we did at Christmas. The children will sing some Spring-y songs. Parents are invited, we will make sure we are safely distanced in the playground.

Tuesday 30th March 2.45pm Badger Class
Wednesday 31st March 2.45pm Fox Class
Thursday 1st April 2.45pm Rabbit Class

We haven’t planned one for Nursery this time, but we hope to arrange an event in the summer.

Comic Relief Friday 19th March

It’s Red Nose Day on Friday 19th March and we’re asking the children to come dressed in their own brightly coloured clothes, and bring along a few pennies to put
into the donation boxes in the classrooms.  Each class will be planning some fun Red Nose Day themed activities for the day.
Unfortunately we won’t be selling Red Noses this year, and ask that you please don’t send your child in with a Red Nose due to hygiene issues if they were to get mixed
up.

Reading Books

We’ve recently taken delivery of hundreds of new reading books for the children in Rabbits, Badgers and Foxes to practice their reading skills at home. The books are matched to the phonics teaching that children receive in school, so the children should be able to read the books independently from a younger age. We hope you enjoy sharing them together. Nursery have ordered a wide selection of new books to be used in the classroom.
