Open Afternoon – a time to shine!

The new school year has started extremely positively and there are so many good things going on in all the classrooms that we have decided to host our very first Open Afternoon on Thursday 14th November – a chance for our children to showcase all that they have learned and achieved so far this year.

This will be a chance parents who currently have children attend our school to come and have a look at their child’s work, as well as an opportunity for any prospective parents who have children starting school in September 2020 to come and see the fantastic work that goes on in Tuel Lane Infants and Nursery. Parents are invited into classrooms where they will get a taste of what the teaching and learning is like at our school and children will be able to talk through and share everything that they have accomplished so far in their new class.

Parents who are thinking about choosing Tuel Lane for their child starting school in September 2020 are invited to a short talk with the Headteacher at 2.00pm, then are welcome to look around the classes. There will also be another talk and chance to look in classrooms (albeit without children in them!) for prospective new parents at 6.00pm on the same day.

Current parents who have children in school already can arrive from 2.15pm and make their way to the classrooms to seetheir child and their work. All finer details of the Open Afternoon arrangements will be sent out nearer the time and these will be available to view on our website – following the ‘Parents’ – ‘Communication’ – ‘Correspondence’ pathway.

Bumped Head Protocol

Due to the age and development stage of our children, there can be times when they fall over or bump into each other in the playground. We have recently revised our policy for how we inform parents if your child has had a bump to the head.
Please see the policy Bump to Head and Head Injury Policy
